  1. Love your oil finishes and wondered if you could give me a little bit of advice? I have a swamp ash Stratocaster body that i’ve been applying tried and true varnish oil to (polymerized linseed oil with pine resin). I sanded to 320 the did 3 super thin coats spaced out over a week. I wiped the excess oil 1 hour after each coat and burnished 24 hrs later. The finish feels velvety and smooth when wiping my hand across it, but when pressing fingers into the wood there’s a slight tackiness to it and if i handle the body for a little bit i feel a little bit of residual oil left on my hands.
Someone from tried and true said i may need to remove with turpentine and start again.

The finish i’m after is mostly grain filled with a satin sheen. I was unsure about how to get the grain filled look without causing long dry times with the oil. I know you use odies oil but not sure if any natural polymerized linseed oil product would have similar instructions .
