Oh my god… Pictures don’t do this any justice. Roasted maple is just beautiful to behold and it smells wonderful as well. I’m going to use as much of this wood as I possibly can. Even gonna make truss rod covers and picks or something else… Ugh so nice

I also found an old walnut top as well. So I’ll be making two flat top guitars, both with quartered sapele backs and matching headstocks. All this will be after the burl maple build. I figure making two flat top bodies is pretty simple. As always the most time spend will be making the necks.
These builds will be receiving oil and wax finishes as well. I might change my mind to tru oil but we’ll cross that bridge later.
