This was fun, worked like a charm up until the end where the template slipped a millimeter towards the end of the heel. I thought about a way to fix it by masking the heel of the neck with wax paper and grinding walnut dust from the offcuts I’ve saved and to use superglue to pack the gap. So far it worked pretty well.

Take home lesson : Never throw away offcuts of wood which will be visible.
