The scarf joint is cut but looks quite jagged. Typically people use routers on jigs for a perfect cut but I’m more likely to injure myself in the process as I have no idea how to properly use a router. Using a hand saw on a piece of hardwood is tough. I have a small block plane I’ve been saving for this occasion. I adjusted the blade for the smallest cut possible and went at it. Took only about 15 minutes to get things looking good. It’s still not quite where I’d like it but I’ll save the rest for another day.
