Walnut top trued and glued. I also sketched out the carve areas in order to visualize them better. I’m determined to move away from the whole chamfered armrest thing. It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just that it’s associated with blackmachine too much and is way overused. These carves aren’t original, but they aren’t beaten like a dead horse…yet
After this is glued I’ll take everything to the downtown artist space and spend an hour or two cutting everything out on the bandsaw, then I’ll cut the birch templates out as well and route them flush with the master template made by Joe Moes. Then il use the birch templates to clean the edges of the body and top once they are glued. Most importantly ill do some weight relief on the bodies beforehand.
