Used Anthony Murkar’s awesome smoothing plane for this. My whole room smelled like maple syrup and pancakes. This method is not that efficient and requires a lot of checking but it will eventually get the job done.
I clamped it down but had some more difficulty than usual because of the live edge on one side. It’s all clamped and I hope it all goes well. We’ll see tomorrow.

I’ve seen Anthony’s hand planes before. Never knew the are soo small.
i think he makes some different sizes, this was onw he was working on at the time and i jumped on it. if anything it just looked awesome. but it actually is a wonderful smoothing plane. that huge hock iron is quite amazing as well.
